I am now in tears. The message on the phone says "we want to thank you in advance (for holding on for ages) for showing kindness and consideration to our team as they try their very best to help you". Yet they showed little kindness and no consideration to me one of their customers. I am elderly but not stupid. I am excellent at administration. But I have NEVER been treated so badly by any organisation. I am a disabled wheelchair user, and have spent hours this week trying to put in a claim form for a lost birthday card and gift to a friend in Shrewsbury. I have uploaded proofs of postage for second class signed for and proof for the value of the gift card from M&S sent. The Royal Mail claims form online did not work, even after I had spent ages photographing receipts and editing the photos to upload as JPEGs which I had to do because I do not use a smartphone. The form calendar did not work. I click on the date of postage as they asked me to do, 07/07/2022 and it reads it as a date in the future and a red box comes up. I am not allowed to get to the rest of the form due to this 'error' which is not an error. The algorithm does not seem to be reading the date correctly . It thinks 07/07/2022 is a date in the future. I told this customer services man this morning this but the man I spoke to today after their promise to escalate this yesterday, said it was not their form or their system but me . I had checked on request the date of my computer which was the correct date so there was no clash. He put the phone down on me, talked over me, kept on telling me in a nasty tone that it was not their online form. I asked for his name, he refused to give it and that is when he slammed the phone down. I felt like I was disbelieved and subject to elderly abuse (as I had told him I was an older person and disabled). I shall write to the CEO Simon Thompson about the totality of my experience. It does make one feel so utterly hopeless about Royal Mail and so used and abused and hopeless to be treated this way by a company complaints person. After all, Royal Mail lost a package worth £35 plus the postage of £2.45 signed for second class, plus the beautiful birthday card that was lost, a disappointed friend and a birthday that I have never forgotten in 30 years. Royal Mail is going down the tubes. I spoke to a much nicer person in customer services called Thomas from Sunderland who is in a call centre and is going to look into all this.
I would like to refer to the previous messages sent to your office. I stated, the mails were sent by me. They were sent by an aquaintance of mine. Sorry for making a mistake. customer
Please could you check into a message sent to the royal mail customers services number, by text messaging, about two employees seen on the canning road, Wealdstone, Harrow Borough, London, delivering the mails, between 2016-2021. A deletion of the messages was requested. customer
