Horrible !!!! Palace hotel Buxton - ROOM 305.

I booked my room well in advance to attend a graduation ceremony. Room was booked for an overnight check-in on the 3rd of November and check-out on Friday the 4th of November.
On arrival, on Thursday the 3rd of November, the room was extremely cold and was told by reception that heaters are preserved and turned off in order for the hotel to save money. (this is done at the expense of the customer being left to freeze to death). It was impossible to settle in the room and I nicely asked if I could change my room or pay any additional cost in order to be moved but I was told that the hotel is completely full and they will not be able to do anything but I must stay cold and frozen in the room!
The carpet was dirty and dusty, anyone with dust mite would go into anaphylactic shock!!! There is no telephone in the room. The walls have stained and paintings plus generally appeared poor - looks like something from a seventeen century film.

The second horrible situation was the bathtub with noisy gurgling sounds from the plumbing pipes and producing a backlog of water filling up the bathtub with dirty, smelly water throughout the night.
Again I approached the reception informed them and show a picture / video of the dirty water filling up the bath and the reception told me in a very nonchalant way that there was nothing they could do even though it meant I will not be able to use the bath, nor the wash basin - not even able to brush my teeth!!!
The receptionist had no compassion and told me nothing will be done.

I slept in a very cold room without being able to shower during my stay!!!!
I woke up feeling cold and miserable.
This is so unbelievable, and the reception staff was very unhelpful, unprofessional and has no customer service etiquette - no whatsoever.

My first impression of the hotel was a 'concrete mess' I was shocked this place was used as a holiday destination for our tour of Yorkshire by a holiday company. The room was awful with burn marks on the furniture, the chairs in the room were literally coming apart and were badly stained, the window was broken and would not shut and for the hotel statement that your room is 'sanitised' made me astounded when on entering the bathroom there were long black hairs stuck to the wall above the bath, both my husband and I have short grey hair! On looking down at the beds I noticed the castors had broken off on both mine and my husbands beds. This is a stop over to the airport not a holiday hotel.
The food was unpalatable even if you could manage to cut it. One of the residents asked me what was on the menu? I described it as roast fat with a touch of pork. Lots of people were complaining about the state of the food, one evening I asked what the 'orange' vegetable was to be told it was mashed butternut squash. I have never known it to literally run off the spoon. If we had not eaten a sandwich at lunchtime whilst out on the trips we would have starved for a week. I have to say the gataeu for dessert was crossed off the list for two evenings, on the third evening chef must have remembered to get them out of the freezer. I do not eat a full english breakfast but did on two mornings manage to find a pot of porridge although I missed out on the morning one woman took four for herself, This was a trip bought for me as a Christmas present from my husband as I have a terminal illness and Yorkshire was on my bucket list. Yorkshire was beautiful and the Yorkshire people the friendliest I have ever met so I will keep those memories with me. If I could rate this 'hotel' as a minus 5 I would. It ought to be closed down as it is a health hazard.

I stayed at the Newcastle airport hotel Thursday 10/02/22 I now this is a budget hotel and gets bad reviews but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, the room was spacious, clean, bed was so comfortable and the room had everything I needed including an iron and ironing board 👍
The staff were helpful and curtious. I slept well left early for my flight feeling refreshed. I think it is important to give praise as well as criticism, I paid half the price of any of the other hotels around which is good value I have no complaints thank you Newcastle airport hotel 👍

Stayed at the Prince of Wales hotel in Southport. We came home after an hour. The so called clean penthouse suite was an absolute disgrace. It was filthy-dust inches thick, spiders, broken glass, disgustingly dirty soil pipe. There was a strange smell in the reception area-later realised it was cannabis. Never been in such a filthy place. If this was the penthouse, goodness knows what the other rooms were like. And thats just what you can see...no idea about cleanliness in the kitchen or restaurants as we werent willing to stay over. The amount of people asking -and getting- refunds was unbelievable. Dont stay here (in my opinion)

I was charged a cancellation fee even though I didn’t cancel and actually stayed 3 nights!!! Unsurprisingly that despite being perfectly able to take money from my account, no one can answer emails or calls or refund the money! Awful awful awful customer service and I would avoid this hotel chain at all costs in future

The Grand Hotel, Scarborough could be an amazing hotel if only Britannia Hotels would take their time and effort to make sure their staff kept their hotel claen. We keep our own homes clean yet Britannia doesn't make sure their rooms, reception area and outdoor terrace is kept clean. Why would anyone ever stay in a dirty unkempt place when a stsy is supposed to be a relaxing retreat? They can't even be bothered to sweep up the terrace deck outside of cigarette butts never mind lut a lick of paint/varnish on the tables and benches. Almost every other hospitality business has used lockdown time to clean up their premises and Britannia haven't even touched what used to be the largest hotel in Europe. Shame on them!

Just returned from staying one night at the Airport Inn, Manchester and what a terrible hotel this is. I paid extra for an exec double and it was disgusting. Dusty, ripped bed base with the material hanging down, phone didn’t work, no soap, broken toilet, door slamming. Went down in the evening to order a sandwich and was told the chef had gone home and there was no food. Filthy entrance to hotel. What a waste of money, so upset, never again will ai stay at Britannia Hotels, should have stayed at Premier Inn! You should be ashamed of yourselves. Will be passing this on.

i have just stayed at the metropole blackpool worst hotel ever, had to wait 2 hours to get into room, when we got into roo there were no towels, went to reception and asked if they were not supplying towels and was told yes they were and they would have some put in room.we were then asked to put car reg onto a screen and told we had to pay £5 per night to park even although we had a disabled badge.then people were coming parking that did not reside in hotelfor free, next i had to go ask for the towels again to be told once again they woul put some in room, never happened had to go out and buy some.no tea and coffee supplied either and no maid in from fri till monday had to make up beds and 4 bags of rubbish piled up disgusting, basically we were given a key to door and left to get on with it,all for the cost of £300 for 3 nights, all certainly not be back
