We have just left Butlins Bognor after a disastrous few days .
The camp is dirty , old and dilapidated . On arrival we put the kettle on and the boiling kettle leaked all down the cupboard onto my foot . We tried to complain about the kettle and were given a leaflet and told to call the number , 3 days later we are still waiting for a reply .
The first day we ate dinner and the food was nice , 2 days on and it tastes old . We did ask about the menu before we went as our granddaughter is autistic and eats scrambled egg . We were told there’s always scrambled at breakfast . When there wasn’t any we were told oh it’s not arrived so there won’t be any. It’s not even the fact that there’s not a lot in the camp that’s supposed to be there it’s the way the staff talk to you when you ask about it .
We were told the pool is open until 5 so we turned up at 3pm to swim only to be told is closed at 3 now . Not only were there a queue of crying children who couldn’t swim but the lady said “ no good crying it’s still 3 pm close “
We went to Bognor last September and this break now had the same shows as then . The same tired skyline frozen show and the redcoats have no interest in the kids . We constantly listened to other holiday goers that the redcoats are bored and make no efffort to engage with the kids .
All these new places at Butlins are being built but how about fixing and updating what’s there before adding on .
The essence of Butlins has been lost , it’s not a family holiday anymore , it’s a money pit and dirty one at that

We stayed at Butlins Minehead in April 2023,
we stayed in the chalet the same as we did last year, again we loved the accommodation, very family friendly and very clean and spacious.
We loved the whole holiday, Skyline Gang, Billie and Bonnie and the Shows....The Redcoats are a credit to the company, always helpful and always there to lend a hand with the children, kept them occupied, and even have a laugh with the adults.
My only down falls are the fact that the room was not "freshened up" all week (mon-fri) whichc we didnt mind but we had to re use our towels.
The fair ground was half closed and the rules changed daily, i took my 3 year old, 6 year old and 8 year old on the kids boat whilst my husband was waiting with our 1-year-old twins, the Tuesday I was allowed to do this but Thursday the man said only two children on at a time with you which as you can imagine really upset my children. I AGREE with health and safety its the fact the staff was all picking and choosing their own rules.
We also were very upset to not have very many skyline gang shows or Billie and Bonnie like last year, which we have heard in the great Vine that this is going to be a permanent thing going forward.

We re-booked for next April as we do this every year but we wanted to do 7 days instead of five as most of Monday is gone by the time you get there and check in and Friday everything is closed so that day doesn't count.
So after asking how much for Monday to Friday £500 we asked you to quote us to add the weekend on also but it was a further £1200 which is silly money.

It's a shame it cost so much with all the things included being pushed to the side and not being updated. we were unable to afford £1700-£1800 being a family of 7 which is a big shame.

Hoping to come back in 2024 and things have changed and more kids' entertainment in the day also and maybe prices be more doable.
other than that we love Butlins and go every year.

a big thank you to Ian, Ryan, Charlie, and Brydon for being amazing.

Hi,

I arrived here today to find a empty bag of cocaine. I was promised a kitchen but your telling me you can’t find the phone call. I have been promised a kitchen via telephone and spoke to someone on site to which iv basically been called a liar. No one has rang me back . I have a 11 month old baby and 6 year old and I have bought food and milk to which I have no where to store. Your saying your fully booked! I have spoken to 5 different staff memebwr passed from pilar to post! I have just spoken to one of your staff on site at customer service who is apparently at the call centre to which her attitude was uncaring and rude. My sons birthday is tomorrow and we are here to celebrate his birthday and it has been a disaster. I have had no apology for any of this. Just treated appallingly.
We may have to cut our journey short because of all this! The was not a care from the last lady I just spoke to via telephone.

I am utterly disgusted and appalled by Butlins Bognor Regis and I would like to take this further if you can supply me details of your head quarter.

Stayed at minehead last week, came home friday and left valuable items in my room by accident completely my fault i can accept that.
I checked out before 10am so fhe cleaners could get in and clean the room i know exactly where i left the items which was on the bed so staff would of spotted this straight away when changing the sheets which they so say do before every new arrival, rang them and emailed serval times nothing has been handed in.
Your cleaners have pinched my items its no longer missing items its stolen items the items were left in the room which only myself and cleaners would have a key to get into.
A family resort that is disgusting behaviour to take some ones items and not hand them in to lost property so minehead clearly have theifs for staff!
It was a bag of jewellery worth a lot of money and it is so poor that it was stolen and not handed in as i no i left it on the bed.
Butlins minehead absolute disgrace!!

Absolutely disgusted by the way this company treat individuals. The company have lost our custom for the rest of our lives and we will be warning friends and relatives to never spend a penny with them. We had a simple request to change the lead booker for a party due to the lead booker having to attend their mothers funeral. The customer representative refused to change the lead booker and made it clear the whole party would not be able to attend the booking if the lead booker was changed. There would be no refund available and the whole booking had to be cancelled, despite the rest of the group still being able to attend. They even had the audacity to tell us that we couldn't leave site to attend the funeral and return. I thought i was booking a holiday not a few days in prison. When asking to escalate this to a manager, we were refused access to one. When asking to raise a formal complaint and follow the grievance/complaints process I was told that one didn't exist. This is blatant profiteering from a difficult situation at a very sensitive time for the family. Absolute disgusting behaviour from this company. Just do not book anything with these, they hide behind terms and conditions and refuse to help in any way possible, save yourself the pain. We are going to the papers with this disgusting behaviour. I cannot believe in the 21st century you cannot change the lead bookers name without forfeiting a whole holiday, pathetic.

My review is consistent with many others, it has led me to question the ethics of the Butlin's organisation. They have lost my custom and that of my family for a lifetime but they simply do not seem to care. My complaint could have easily been resolved but they hide behind 'terms and conditions' rather than having any empathy for the customer. I want to write to a senior manager about my experience but cannot get beyond customer services. Whilst at Skegness swimming pool one of the attendants threw a set of car keys to his colleague down from the highest point of the flume to the ground where the public were standing. I note in the terms and conditions that Butlin's treat health and safety and safeguarding seriously but I have no idea of the outcome of my complaint as customer services do not communicate effectively, I do not even know if the incident has even been reported to the Skegness Pool Management Team. We were day visitors and the sole purpose of our visit was to use the rapids in the swimming pool complex as my daughter is afraid of the flumes. The rapids were closed so we wanted to go home and simply return on a day they were open but of course the 'terms and conditions' do not allow this. Butlin's you can and should do better than this as customers are human beings with emotions. Whilst for the customer service department it is case closed we are a family who feel let down and when we tell our story others agree that we have not been fairly treated. All people ever ask is to be treated with fairness, courtesy and respect. Is this too much to ask?

My sister and I booked a short weekend break this weekend from Friday 2/9/22 to Monday 5/9/22 at Butlins Skegness just for a standad room with a premium dinning plan included.
We arrived at 1pm on Friday but unfortunatley my sister hurt her back and found it to painfull to walk and sleep so we had to cut short our break and leave early on next morning (Saturday). Obviously this was very dissapointing. We used to come to Butlins with our family when we children, several times in the 60's and 70's and then in the 80's with my own children, Staying at Skegness, Clacton and Minehead.
This was suppossed to be a weekend to reminess and remember the good times we all shared together, as unfortunatley we are the only two family members left of eight.
So, we new the that Butlins was very different then but in the little time we had on Friday we were pleased to see that it was just as enjoyable and a nice happy place.
So I would like to give credit to the house keepers as our room was very tidy and had been very well cleaned and presented. Also, although we only had a meal on Friday evening, the food was very good and the staff were very helpful.
So, just to say thankyou and hope to return one day.

Absolutely appalling place at Skegness, still waiting for refund, customer services are abysmal and basically laugh in your face when you complain, went last month to 70s weekend left after one night, got keys to room which had not been cleaned, sheets on bed had bodily fluids all over them, white powder substance all over surfaces, paid for ground floor room, on phone 50 minutes to be told to wait outside room for a cleaner, no way was I staying in that room, asked for uograde to be told you don't upgrade, Amanda in customer services gave us the run around, we have mobility problems and only room we were offered was upstairs, as it was raining and getting late we took this, to be honest it wasn't much better, Saturday a.m we went to customer services, Andrea told us the original room had been cleaned now and we could have it back, I said no and that we wanted a refund as we were leaving, she smugly informed us that it would be 28 days before we received this, still waiting 6 weeks later for refund, never ever will Butlins get our custom again, I have got photos of the room and sent them on but no one is interested, just blamed the cleaners.
