Fantastic YHA Castleton—we travelled the entire distance by train and bus. This YHA is conveniently located for public transport, though reservations are advised as services run on the hour. The team was excellent and had helpful local walking expertise (as well as walk leaflets). Notwithstanding the hostel being full, the food was standard, served quickly, and abundant. I also enjoyed the ambiance in the common area.
spent the night in the hostel in Streatley. For £31, a tidy, comfortable single room is just five minutes from the Thames! I had a wonderful day exploring the Ridgeway; the views, kites, larks, and butterflies were all there. The morning stroll along the Thames Path was breathtaking. The hostel is centrally located and offers carefully equipped self-catering kitchens, pleasant public spaces, courteous staff, and great chats with other travellers.
