Eight weeks ago my email address was de-activated by a hacker, requiring me to sign up to a new server. Since then, and despite dozens of phone calls and emails to E.E. I have been unable to change my account details.
I have been sucessful in changing my email address, but despite all efforts, I cannot change my password - and therefore in limbo trying to access my account. I had two notifications from E E to say the account has been up-dated - but still cannot gain access, or receive a "verification code when I try.
I can accept a technical "computer" problem, but not the discourtesy of being told they will call back but do not do so - or tell you it will be "another week" before they will be in touch (if at all)!
nearly two hours of "chat" with 4 "technical support" people, who were unable to get my new sim card to work --so many tries that my phone is now "freezed" (Sic) It is an old, un-Smart and very simple phone, which was formerly locked to EE, (and is still.) I gave up trying to get an answer as they asked me to try so may passwords etc, that it is now permanently useless . Their final shot was for me to demolish my phone, in search of an IMEI number on a "pull out tray " which I KNOW doesn't exist, for some reason, and which I declined to do , as I didn't think that they had a clue, and that I would end up with much less that I started with and it would be no one's responsibility .
An entire hot day-the first of the year entirely wasted--where do I go from here?? back to the idiots? is there anyone competent in there please???? perhaps you are all WFH in the sun, which I have missed. The direct debits work well, I'm sure.
On reading below--I'm not sure that I qualify as "human". 76 years old and without my phone--GREAT service.
